N Power Fined for Piss Poor Customer Service

The energy supplier npower has been fined £2m by Ofgem for mishandling customer complaints.

It is the second heavy fine levied on one of the "big six" energy firms over complaints handling in four months after a £2.5m fine for British Gas in July.

Ofgem said npower had failed to record all details of the complaints it received, did not give customers enough details of the redress service offered by the energy ombudsman and failed to put in adequate processes to deal with complaints.

The regulator said it was also investigating the way EDF Energy, another of the big six suppliers, handled its complaints.

Sarah Harrison, Ofgem's senior partner for sustainable development, said: "Consumers have a right to expect that energy companies will comply with the standards. Npower failed to do so and, although it took remedial action, it has incurred a penalty for failing consumers."

Ofgem added that the fine would have been higher had the company not admitted the breaches of regulations and taken action to improve its complaints procedures.

Npower, which is owned by German group RWE, is the UK's fourth largest provider and supplies about 3.3 million customers.

This month it put up its average tariffs for gas by 15.7% and electricity by 7.2% because of rising wholesale power prices.

The firm was fined £1.8m in 2009 by Ofgem for mis-selling after complaints from customers about its doorstep sales team.

I'm totally glad they got that fine, although from N Power's veiwpoint 2 Million squid is probably much cheaper than actually sorting out the problems they cause and billing customers in a correct manner. Even so I feel I contributed slightly to this fine and would like to thank Ofgem, for eventually getting round to making a totally token gesture on our behalf!

Talk Talk... Yep its still going on...

OK so Talk Talk, the witless fucktards, finally managed to credit me after 21 days of me phoning up and demanding the money they stole from me (via direct debit), which is something 'they don't normally do' (i think that means 'do what the customer wants'), however they have declined to offer me any goodwill gesture. Contract cancelled in that case.

They only told me that I would see the money everyday last week except for the day it actually turned up on Friday.

Cheers Talk Talk, you've fucked up my bills for 4 months, you told me I would be getting re-imbursed on 28th March (after a great deal of complaining, it wasn't easy to get that far) which actually turned up in my account on 1st April. You haven't covered any of the bank charges relating to the money you stole. You told me I'd recieve the money everyday between the 28th and the 31st, which didn't happen and you've yet to refund me for the small matter of about 6 hours it took on the phone to resolve this simple issue. So get fucked.

All I asked for was a goodwill credit to make me feel like Talk Talk wasn't ripping the piss out of me, yet you can't even do that you fuck-faced tramp wankers. Kindly kiss my fucking ass, uber-chumps!
I'm off to virgin, who do I complain to about these fucking shitty assholes???

The Talk Talk Chronicles..... Fuckin Useless Wankers...

Further to the post earlier this month where I explained how Talk Talk had been overcharging me, I'm still no closer to getting a refund.
I first rang them on Monday 8th March 2011, after pointing out that I don't give a fuck what processes they gotta go through, I just want the money they took in error (or robbed off me) to be paid back to me asap. Not too much to ask you would think... Not a difficult proposition for a global company such as the Mighty Talk Talk you would think. And you'd be fucking wrong on both counts, seriously wrong.
Talk Talk has gone to new lengths on order to not pay me the fucking money it owes me. The last 3 days I have phoned up, waited the obligatory half hour on hold and been told yeah it'll be in your account tomorrow, by some jobsworth who clearly doesn't give a fuck (you can hear it in their voices..)
When I point out that's not the first time I've been told that exact bollocks by the reps I spoken to on previous phone calls, which have turned out to be untruths or bare faced lies, they generally get defensive and still neglect to sort out my fucking payment. It beggars belief that almost a moth after I have been the victom of a blatant crime, the offender is telling me to hang on and that's its been sorted when the money is clearly not in my account ergo IT FUCKING HASN'T BEEN SORTED HAS IT??
Livid. Are you a talk talk customer? Only the brave or terminally stupid should apply....

Birthday Party Farce

So this Saturday Night just gone I did a Birthday party for this girl, who had hit me up on Facebook after some people had apparantly reccommended my skills to her. I'd Never met her before Saturday and had no inkling of the nightmare that was about to unfold although various people had mentioned she was a bit unhinged.

As far as I was concerned I was being employed specifically to dj not supply any sound system, and in her messages it was not made clear at all whether there was a sound system or not (there was not), although she did manage to knock £20 off the price i'd quoted her claiming she had spent it all on decorations (which consisted of about 6 helium balloons). I made a point of asking which connections I would need to bring to plug my shit in, which I now realise is gibberish to some people. Usually I got a number for most people I do gigs for and if there's any confusion a quick phone call will bring everyone up to speed on any given situation; typically I didn't have her number and the facebook messages took about 3 days to get answered, so i resigned to take all my little connectors with me, so no matter what inputs I'd be fine.

7:30pm, England had just lost a shocking game of rugby to Ireland, I got picked up by a taxi with my mixer and 4 boxes of records from home, collected my turntables en route and got dropped off at the venue. Upon arriving it began to dawn on me not only that there weren't any speakers but that the whole party had been organized in the same loose haphazard fashion as the way my booking had gone.

After realizing we couldn't use the speakers in the bar (they were using them to play dnb loudly), I hastily arranged to borrow some from the very kind people in a different venue down the road and went and picked them up. Note the young lady and self described business woman running the party was absent beyond the initial 'oh you haven't got any speakers, I thought you were bringing some speakers' conversation. So thanks to a lift from the bar staff and the charity of another guy we now had some speakers, it was now something like half past 8 by the time i'd plugged it all in and after smoking a roll up commenced the music.

Within 5 minutes someone came along and asked to turn it down and within a minute of her so did the next guy. I turned the music off and went outside and smoked another roll up, getting really fucking hacked off.. Why did I get the fucking speakers to play the music when it was getting drowned out by the tunes blaring from the bar? Why did they fucking book me? So I decided I wasn't gonna play any more tunes til I got paid at least the agreed fee although now including a set of speakers that were not quoted for I felt I was perfectly justified to demand more. Usually I get paid before but what with the palava about the speakers I had forgotten to ask on this occasion.

It took no less than 20 minutes before someone noticed I was just standing behind the decks dithering about and came over to ask why I wasn't playing any music. I calmly explained that I woud like to be paid before continuing. Soon there was a whole crew of people arguing with me about why I shouldn't be paid what was agreed in advance, most notably our hostess for the evening who (whilst trying to surrepticiously drink my beer at the same time) declared she wasn't going to pay me at all
"Are you fuckin serious?" was all I could say to that. It was like something out of the Apprentice and I had the distinct impression I was getting stitched up by these girls playing at being Stella English. I had a couple of supporters too, who mediated a compromise - pay him his money. In the end the girls' boyfriend agreed to sort me out if it turned out that the girl didn't and we shook hands, so still unpaid I turned the music back on at about 9pm.

Like I said earlier, this party was organized in a fairly haphazard fashion which had the knock on effect of being particularily devoid of people. There was birthday girl, a bunch of her chums in glamarous shoes and a couple of lads about but in total no more than 15 people, 20 at the very outside - pretty poor effort, you're fired! So after playing to a virtually empty room for a couple of hours and cheering up a little I popped out for a smoke. The music in the bar was still blaring out. When I popped out there was still a few drunk people loitering in the room but just like I called it at about half eleven birthday girl fuckin scarpered with her ensemble of hangers on - leaving me high and dry. Packed my shit up fuming! I was lucky enough to get a lift home so all the gear was sorted, then even more lucky cos he called this girl's boyfriend who then dropped round my flat with some money. Fair play to him. However this woman was something else, her sense of entitlement alone aggreived me. She was blind drunk by about halfway through the evening and watching her hit the deck at least twice went someway towards restoring balance in the force but in no way compensated for the evening I had endured.

Quite big contender for worst party ever!

Opal (now part of the Talk Talk Empire)

Ok so I upgraded my account with Opal (formerly Nildram) in December last year, because it worked out £10 pound cheaper or so than the deal I was getting with line rental through BT. What a mistake to make!
Talk Talk then bought Opal, so the result for me was that since getting my shiny new account, no one at Opal cancelled my new one so I been paying for 2 last 3 months, cheers for saving me money, useless fuckers.
It took a 45 minutes wait on hold, (listening to soul destroying music...) before speaking to a representative who sorted the situation in seconds, obviously a recurring problem for Talk Talk. Double check your bills, are you ebing double charged too????

First Great Western Ticket Discounts (weekly fare)

OK, so the prices ercently went up by about 8% (probably because the service has improved and the trains are on time... lol fuck no, it's to make the cunts runng FGW even richer..) and I've started going to Theale everday now.
Firstly the trains are still regularily late. It has only been on time once since I began in Theale on 11th February 2011. That's some bullshit service right there, it would be really hard to run it any worse in my opinion.
Anyway today's gripe is about ticket prices.
In order to get from Newbury to Thatcam I could pay £2.70 every day or buy a weekly ticket for £11 a saving of £2.50 which is acceptable for regular travellers.
Now FGW have realised this is a benefit to their customers and have fucked it off.
So here' the deal from Theale.
Daily return ticket: £4.40 and the Weekly ticket retails at £25.40, so if I work a 5 day week it's MORE FUCKING EXPENSIVE to buy a weekly ticket... which is supposed to save you money... £2.40 more expensive.. 5 x £4.40 is £22...
Unbelievable shit, so you can save money and travel to thatcham cheaper on a weekly ticket, but your lucks out if you want to go an extra 4 stops along the line and you gotta fucking pay through the nose.
I said it before and I'll say it again, the utter cunts that run these Rail comapanies need to be educated in the meaning of customer satisfaction, all the public money pouring in and the service they offer is piss poor at best and downright offensively shocking as a standard. How can the government justify letting these private companies FUCK UP our railways using our publci money to do it? Fucking privitised robbery in daylight.
